Vibration test

This model simulates a vibration test of a viscoelastic damper on a shaker.

Damping elements involving layers of viscoelastic materials are often used for reduction of seismic and accoustic vibrations in wind turbines and other tall structures. A mass is attached to the damper to include the effects of load and inertia.

The applied excitation profile is based on vibration measurements on a wind turbine in the field. The result is a transmissibility plot that identifies the damping and amplification frequencies of the combined construction.

Fatigue analysis

This model shows how to perform a High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) analysis with a non-proportional load history caused by a transversal force and a torque which are applied in different combinations.
